We are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to fulfill a 6-month contract with the possibility of an extension. The RPN will be placed with our partnered Long-Term Care home, working a full-time rotation of 12-hour day and night shifts. Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Assess residents to identify appropriate interventions. Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary health team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician. Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in resident’s conditions. Provide wound care. Manage personal support workers and delegate tasks to the appropriate members. Ensure the health, safety, welfare, and independence of residents . Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety regulations set by the province, as well as the policies and procedures of Prowess Perks and any partnered homes. Follow scope of practice as outlined by the CNO. Required Skills Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including; extended standing, walking, and lifting using proper technique. Qualifications Completion of a recognized RPN program (required). Registered as an RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses (required). Minimum 1 year nursing experience (required). LTC experience is considered an asset. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (preferred). Must have access to own transportation.
